    • Cyanuric Acid Reagents - CYA

    Cyanuric acid reagent, often used in pool testing, is a chemical solution designed to measure the concentration of cyanuric acid in pool water. CYA, also known as a chlorine stabilizer or conditioner, acts as a "sunscreen" for chlorine, protecting it from degradation by ultraviolet (UV) light. The reagent reacts with cyanuric acid in the pool water to create a cloudy solution (turbidity). The degree of cloudiness is directly proportional to the amount of cyanuric acid present, allowing for accurate measurement of its concentration. This test helps pool owners maintain proper CYA levels, ensuring chlorine remains effective and preventing over-stabilization.
